I use google maps and find it not very accurate. It doesn’t seem to capture a lot of bus routes

+1 on citymapper. best app for public transport routes esp for buses, and their eta is quite accurate.

i’ve had a few bad exp with google maps underestimating the travel time by 30 mins. or suggesting stupid routes like taking a bus and walking 25 mins when there’s actually a more direct bus with 5 min walking.

Citymapper has better routing than Google Maps in my opinion. Never used Apple Maps, so can't compare. Google Maps does fine for simple routes, but their routing falls apart when there are multiple viable routes. There've often been times where I know a certain route is faster, and Google Maps will never recommend it, but Citymapper does.

If you are near AMK, can i say you are like at Sgoon North area? If yes, probably take 25 to Kembangan MRT and change to train. Or you can try gothere.sg’s route of going towards Punggol and changing a bus to the airport from there. Alight at T1 and then walk to Jewel.

Google maps is good enough. But google maps doesn't like to switch too many bus and mrt. 

Occasionally, I would check the closest MRT(MRT is literally everywhere in Singapore), then navigate between closest MRT and my destination.

Google maps sometimes is a bit weird. Like it will tell me to alight earlier and walk a longer distance as compared to alighting one more stop and walk a shorter distance.

Citymapper (where available) has generally got better integration, but Google isn't bad. Europe as a whole is much more of an Android environment, so I would guess that the integration developers would focus on.

Honestly I think it varies a lot. Often even by region/city. Personally of those I prefer Google Maps. But many services don't appear on either in some places and you have to use local operator websites. I've had this problem a lot in Poland. But it can happen elsewhere. Public transport is managed at a local level - and often by city/region rather then national.

I often find Google Maps is quite poor with what suggestions it makes for connections. It sometimes shows very risky connections that are almost impossible. And other times it won't show connections that will be fine. It also doesn't have much idea about tickets - sometimes it suggests a route between 2 places that isn't actually valid as it is too much of a detour.

Google Maps live and ticketing integration is also generally poor. It does exist in some areas. But often you have to go directly to the operator for that sort of information.

For trains you are much better off using a train company website. Been if you don't know what the correct one is something like: https://www.bahn.com/en can cover trains across the majority of Europe.

The vast vast majority of local operator apps/websites do have English options.

Of all my time travelling around Europe ( Except the UK ), i've never used anything other than Google Maps and never had any issues. 

For driving i generally still use Waze, but for simply navigation/walking/public transport - Google Maps.

Google maps seems pretty decent for Europe, for as far as I have used it, but can be completely useless too.

Google maps. Had a trip all around Europe and Africa. Most memorable was in Marrakesh and walking the tiny alleyways and Google maps knew exactly which direction to turn and where we were at all times. This was in 2018 so I'm sure the tech has only gotten better.

Google Maps is generally all around better in Europe. Many people who have iPhones, myself included, use it over Apple Maps. My home address for example has been on Google Maps for 10 years but still isn't on Apple Maps.

Also for reviews there is a TON more content on Google Maps.

Google maps plus a local paper metro map has always been my go to. I like a handy paper map to use so I don't need to waste my phone battery for silly stop/line checks to get from place to place.

Google Maps has been messy (especially at KL Sentral) for the longest of time, but it was the only option. Now Apple Maps public transit is absolutely mogging them.

Used to be Google Maps has live integration of bus arrival time for Rapid busses. But then they F-up by closing it and ask users to use their app for scheduling. The Apple Maps integration at best is just estimates not live.
